04 Sep 2014 Hunting African poachers with drones

Earlier this year we heard about Shadowview and their mission to help preserve African wildlife through their Air Guardian Programme. We immediately fell in love with the idea, so decided to sponsor one of the drones. And now we’ve got an awesome Oak & Morrow drone flying in Africa to scare away evil poachers!

Via the Air Guardian Programme Shadowview provides air surveillance with drones to help park rangers find pauchers. Last month the team went to Kasungu National Park, where over the years all rhinos were killed and only about 100 of 2.000 elephants are still alive. It is a difficult battle, where every means of support helps. The park is huge and difficult to protect, but with drones it’s easier to get an overview and detect possible pauchers. Shadowview has started training the rangers in flying the drones. The mission is still going on, but as soon as we know more we will definitely share it with you.
