15 Mar 2016 Cubetto is learning kids to program

It’s never too early to start learning how to program. This must have been one of the thoughts the team behind Cubetto, a coding toy to learn programming in a playful way, had when creating their product.

With Cubetto kids can build rules with colorful coding blocks, thus giving the small cute robot instructions on how to move around. You get a bunch of maps on which the robot can move around. These maps have different drawings and obstacles kids can use to navigate on.

The project feels quite cool, but also a bit expensive for what you get. It feels like it won’t take long for kids to understand the system and reach it’s limits, making it fun for school projects with loads of kids but not for home use. In the last case you need more sophisticated possibilities. Nevertheless: fun project with potential!
